George Fadel called Scarborough home for the better part of his life. As a University of Toronto Scarborough student, George was elected President of the Athletics Association and held positions on the Athletics Advisory Committee, the Council of Student Services, and the University of Toronto Finance Sub-Committee.
Today George continues to give back to the U of T Scarborough community as a member of Campus Council and its Academic Affairs committee. George also served on the U of T Scarborough Alumni Association and was one of the founders of the Athletics Alumni chapter. George’s proudest achievement is helping the university secure the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, a legacy of the 2015 Pan Am & Parapan American Games, and a much-needed sport and recreation facility not only for the campus, but for the Scarborough community as well. George’s contributions earned him a 2016 Arbor Award and three consecutive Athletic Leadership Awards.
After completing a Master of Science in Sports Management from Columbia University, George moved to Memphis, Tennessee to work for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies as their Manager of Marketing Engagement. George continues to give back to the Scarborough community inspires the next generation of students with his remarks, speaking both at U of T and Saint John Paul II Secondary School.
